Mandy Robertson is a midwest born, self taught artist with an aspiration for comics, energy drinks, and glitter. She currently resides in Wisconsin with her super supportive partner, Devin.
Her current comic projects include Dont Cry Witch (modern day suburban fantasy about a group of teenagers blessed with magical powers by the 8 legged deer cryptid that woke up their inner witches), Star-Crossed (modern day urban fantasy about a boy dealing with the death of his best friend and how they’re impossibly reunited), Into the Void of the Couch (an Alice in Wonderland-esque one shot following Clover as she navigates through a strange land with the help of two raven familiars), and Clavis Calvaria (a modern day urban fantasy about a weird kid apprehending the key to his freedom—the Golden Stag).
She has also collaborated various comics, illustrations, and zines with Emily Ree (Anarchy Dreamers), Simina Popescu (Interritus), Stephanie Mided (Jet Black), K Lynn Smith (Plume, published by Devil’s Due), and Kristen Gudsnuk (Henchgirl, Modern Fantasy, published by Dark Horse Comics). Her illustrations and guest comics have also been published in Anarchy Dreamers Volume 1+2, Plume #1 – Kickstarter Gold Edition (Kickstarter exclusive, published by Devil’s Due), and a variant cover for Jet Black #2. Her zine Mandy’s List of Influential Women was showcased at the Brooklyn Fireproof tran-cen-der show “Transparency”, illustrated zine Oh, Les Filles! (collaborated with Simina Popescu) is now on sale at Orbital Comics in Central London, and as of June 2018, two of Mandy’s illustrations were published in the Chicago LGBTQ+ coloring book put out by the Windy City Media Group for Pride Month!
Mandy’s newest collaboration is with the roleplay adventure podcast Quest Friends! She’s been their primary artist for icons and illustrations since 2017, but in May 2019, the podcast GM (Kyle Decker) proposed a comic script. Quest Friends! and the Bloody Red Hat Society Issue 1 will be coming to Kickstarter in October 2019!
Mandy has launched 5 successful Kickstarters, all well over 100% funded! The third, launched in October 2017, had not only been selected as a Kickstarter Project We Love, but also had over 230 backers and was over 600% funded. Pat Shand (Space Between Entertainment) also chose her to do swag illustration work for his comic campaigns on Kickstarter, including a bookmark for Prison Witch and a bookmark, sticker, and enamel pin design for Afterglow.
Space Between Entertainment showcased Mandy for their May 2019 Artist Spotlight!
